Job Summary:

A Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing quality assurance functions for Pegasus. The Quality Control Inspector must have a valid Airframe and Powerplant certificate. The Quality Control Inspector position is a technical services position whose work routine varies while following strict safety and set procedures. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on health, safety, and environmental strategies company wide.

  • Performs Ramp Safety Inspections to ensure employees are working in a safe manner, while following company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Works with the responsible manager(s) to recommend and implement solutions for operational/safety related challenges.

  • Performs compliance auditing of company locations.

  • Works alongside Chief Inspector (CI) to ensure company compliance with the directives of the FAA, foreign aviation authorities (i.e. EASA, JCAB and CAAC) and Pegasus company policies.

  • Complies with air carrier requirements IAW FAR 145 § 145.205, and Pegasus’ Operations Specifications.

  • Assists Chief Inspector (CI) with document collection for quality audits by Federal regulatory agencies (FAA, EPA and OSHA), customer’s quality assurance departments and foreign aviation regulatory agencies.

  • Supports all company policies and safety programs to include AS9100, OSHA and EPA guidelines

  • Audits customer transit documents, correct or cause to be corrected identified discrepancies.

  • Monitors PMX’s repair station vendors and suppliers.

  • Maintains tool inventories and perform routine audits to ensure company compliance.

  • Develops and conducts course studies for company initial indoctrination, recurrent and on-the-job technical and safety training and maintain training record databases.

  • Various line maintenance related services of transport category aircraft.

  • Operates various related ground handling equipment utilized to service aircraft.

  • Presents a clean and neat work area to our customers.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possessing a good working knowledge of the Microsoft (MS) Windows OS as well as MS Office Suite applications such Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

  • Applicants be at least 18 years of age.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • US. citizenship or show proof of right to work in the U.S.

  • A minimum High School graduate or GED.

  • Must have a valid A & P prior to date of hire.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.

  • Possessing a valid driver’s license.

  • The ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Should be friendly and an outgoing personality.

  • The ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints.

  • A self-motivated, team player.

  • Be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather as required.

  • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be able to work independently, or as part of a team, with little or no supervision.

  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service absolutely essential for success.

  • Read and interpret documents such as FAR’s, foreign aviation regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Write routine reports, safety reports, operations procedures for repair stations and quality system manuals and general correspondence.

  • Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization

  • Communicate with customers within and outside of the United States. These customers include many for whom English is their second language. Applicant must be patient and tolerant of differing cultural values and lingual challenges.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.

  • Deal with problems involving variables in non-standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, move, push, pull and install 30-50 lb components unassisted, have 20/20 corrected vision, good hearing, and be willing to wear all required safety equipment (Personal Protective Equipment – PPE).

  • Regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

  • The noise level in the AOA work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and activity.

  • Occasionally high noise levels exist where hearing protection is required and provided.
