What can you expect?

As the Plumber you will primarily be working on projects in remote Alaska or the Pacific Rim including Wake Island. Your tasks will involve physical labor to perform skilled work in building, demolition, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, in accordance with uniform plumbing codes. Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures in water supply and drainage systems. You may assist other craft workers with duties as assigned.

How will you do it?

  • Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates and parts lists
  • Perform installation of plumbing systems that carry water, gas, and other fluids and substances.
  • Cut openings in walls, floors, or ceilings to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Assembles, and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes using power tools.
  • Cuts and threads pipe, bends pipe to required angle.
  • Determine the necessary materials for a job, connect pipes, and test pressure to ensure that a pipe system is airtight and watertight.
  • Help develop blueprints that show the placement of pipes and fixtures, and follow state, federal, and local building codes.
  • Inspect and test previously installed plumbing systems to include pumps within the system
  • Ensure that plumbing meets building codes, stays within budget, and works well with the location of other features, such as electric wires.
  • Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems.
  • Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements.
  • Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections.
  • Communicate well with team members and clients as required.
  • Manage a work log.
  • Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites.
  • Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to team.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory functions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their uses, repair and maintenance and practical applications preferred.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Skilled in reading and evaluating blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result.
  • Skilled in using analytical and research abilities to define nd solve problems.
  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Who is Brice Solutions looking for?

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years of trade experience as a plumber or plumbers apprentice
  • A valid plumbers license.
  • Proficient in basic math for measuring and calculating pipe lengths.
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs.
  • Understanding of current field regulations
  • Valid drivers license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Solutions Driving Policy preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving (if applicable) and background screening.
