The District Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Pedestrian Door Solutions group in this region. This position will report to the Vice President, US Branch Operations, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Pedestrian Door Solutions, and United States.

Skills & Experiences

  • The candidate will be a proven manager who brings skills in growing and running a sales and operations business.

  • Ability to lead and direct a region with direct responsibilities over outside sales representatives, operations managers and field service and install technicians and dispatchers.

  • Previous P&L experience and a proven track record of consistently developing teams and growing sales by advancing product, marketing and sales strategies.

  • This individual will have demonstrated experience utilizing a consultative sales approach in a business to business environment.

  • The successful candidate will deal with a broad spectrum of issues from sales, supply chain, technical service, marketing, financial controls and people development.

  • Experience from the Entrance Automation market (pedestrian doors, gate automation, overhead doors, high speed doors, dock levelers) or other related industries.

  • Expertise in business development, market expansion, M&A activities, organic and service development.

  • Understanding a customer’s business model and service needs (as opposed to simply pushing product and price).

  • Experience in well-regarded company and a track record of continual career progression will also be a key consideration.

  • Experience in working internationally or exposure to working with an internationally based parent company.

    Leadership & Management

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills,

    strong presentation skills and the ability to quickly adapt.

  • He or she has the ability to build strong relationships on all levels and in all cultures.

  • Strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and creative problem solving abilities, business planning, influence management, and a hands-on approach to business will be important competencies.

  • He or she will have the ability to motivate individuals to exceed expectations in terms of corporate plans and in contributing to the overall profitability of the business.

  • This person will be a self-starter who possesses an innovative approach to business along with a strategic mindset with the ability and willingness to dig into details when needed to fully grasp business challenges.

  • The candidate will have the well developed interpersonal and collaborative skills appropriate to a senior level executive, and will exhibit the potential to assume increasing levels of responsibility in the future.

  • Relationship builder – must have the ability to pull people together and to rally the organization around common goals and common culture.

    Requirements for this position will include a minimum of ten (10) years broad-based leadership experience in Entrance Automation and Bachelor’s degree. A strong analytical mind who approaches business issues in a structured manner and organizational capabilities. Establish and maintain strong effective working relationships with incumbent long-term team with up to 15 direct reports. Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with operations, sales professionals, supply chain, administration, vendors, suppliers, distributors, etc. Proven computer abilities; word, Outlook, Excel and BaaN.
