IIMAK Chemical Operator (Nights) in Amherst, New York
This position will require training on A-Shift (7am-7pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday) before transferring to a night shift schedule (final schedule TBD)
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solvent Recovery Room Operator monitors and troubleshoots all equipment associated with solvent recovery/parts cleaning process.
Cleans and evaluates all parts and drums from the dirty stage to the clean stage.
Records all solvent generated from each stage.
Plans parts/drum-washing schedule accordingly.
Maintains the parts/drum staging area’s while in fixed communication with support groups (Inkmaking, MSC, Coating, Slitting and Engineering).
Performs and understands, with proficiency, the internal and external procedures of the operations.
Demonstrates excellent housekeeping skills and responsibility for upkeep of the P2 storage rooms.
Executes plan for the handling, labeling and care for plant-wide flow of Hazardous Waste.
Manufacture E08 backing in plant#2 for all MSC’s and plant#1 coating presses on a daily basis.
Assist with coating changeovers and troubleshooting as necessary.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:

Previous experience with Coating or Inkmaking and/or solvent handling activities preferred.
2 years manufacturing with batch processing experience a plus.
Ability to successfully complete the Process Safety Management (PSM) certification required.
Forklift experience/ certification a plus.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent documentation skills and compliance auditing.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of solvent/dry chemicals and chemical labeling.
Flexibility to change assignments as business needs dictate.
