Job Description
The Quality Professional is responsible for ensuring product quality. This position ensures the consistent implementation of Quality Assurance Policies at a local level. The role involves overseeing laboratory analyses to ensure that quality standards are met, intervening in case of anomalies, and promoting the adoption of product quality control methods and equipment management to all personnel.
Responsibilities
Supervise and conduct sampling, testing, and results analysis of QA procedures.
Develop new tests and analyses, carry out non-standard tests, and recommend purchases of new equipment and devices.
Supervise and support plant cleaning plan.
Supervise laboratory activities and the employees engaged in inspections and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
Adhere to product, process, and control standards, ensuring that food scraps, packaging material scraps, and hygiene and health procedures are known and followed accordingly.
Ensure that all raw and packaging resources comply with regulations for the quality of supplies, following approved methods and procedures.
Ensure compliance with operational procedures regarding sampling activity, results analysis, and transmission.
Communicate with the Plant Associate Director regarding any anomalies and hold any raw or packaging material that does not meet quality standards.
Support the purchasing unit in managing technical objections to suppliers.
Coordinate and support systems implementation (e.g., HACCP--PRPs, technical tables) and quality improvement plans.
Support production and packaging operators in checking output features in compliance with procedures and current regulations.
Support external suppliers for packaging.
Work and communicate effectively with others, contributing positively to working relationships.
Comply with environmental policies and procedures, including energy efficiency, reduce-reuse-recycle initiatives, and reporting requirements.
Assist Q & T Manager with Annual Training for GMP and HACCP, external/third party audits (FSSC22000), reporting Consumer Complaints, and Accounting for payment of invoices.
Support QA Lab in reviewing and reporting Non-Conformities of Raw Materials, Naked Product, and Packaging Materials.
Manage and support Integrated Pest Management Program with contracted Pest Management Company.
Manage and support Plant Cleaning and Sanitation with contracted cleaning company.
Support and participate in the food safety team.
Ensure compliance and understanding of quality procedures that tie directly to food safety—PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs, and FSMA requirements.
Actively participate in mock traces and actual trace events, utilizing the traceability SOP with the traceability and logistic teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related degree required
Preferred 2+ years of quality assurance experience in a food-manufacturing environment
Previous leadership, supervising, or food safety management experience preferred
Ensure compliance and understanding of quality procedures directly tied to food safety requirements
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
