Position Summary:

Story County Public Health is seeking an intern for the spring 2025 semester to assist in meeting the goals of educating the Story County community on various health-related initiatives. This position will have high interaction with the public and be involved in important work regarding immunization and vaccination clinics as well as events. As an intern at Mary Greeley Medical Center, you will also have the opportunity to job shadow other departments of interest.

Position Responsibilities:

Interact and communicate with the community on a professional level in order to educate and bring awareness.

Organize immunization/vaccination clinics and programs.

Assist with planning of events such as Public Health Day, Iowa Public Health annual meeting, Public Health regional meeting, etc.

Create promotional brochures.

Assist in the coordination of various educational and promotional projects.

Other projects of interest.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

Junior or Senior in good standing majoring in kinesiology and health, community public health, or related field of study.

Strong communication skills, independent worker, intuitive, strong initiative, and critical thinking skills.

Excel and Word proficiency.
