What is your role in this?

DIOS is a strategic application within the CPQ domain, used in various Siemens regions and expanding. It is a web-based application developed upon a low-code Java platform which combines many relevant dimensions of pricing, such as Frame Agreements, Global Agreements, Dynamic Pricing, as well as Discount Guidelines (Pricing Policy) and Quotations. The platform offers the frame for the mentioned topics and could be easily regionalized to provide the best solution for local requirements.

One a given day; the DIOS Application Architect will spend time:

  • Acting as a trusted partner to the Service Team Manager and the team of developers, being daily recognized by the technical skills and capability of filtering & independently resolving issues raised by the users.

  • Making sure that the Infrastructure for DIOS tool in Azure is running smoothly and participate actively on projects that aim on extending and enhancing it.

  • Resolving a multitude of data quality issues, by being able to check, maintain, upload and mend data in DIOS databases.

  • Participating on testing sessions with developers, becoming someone that understands the development of tickets and can aid the process.

  • Driving projects on extending the number of data sources both feeding DIOS and being fed by DIOS, while optimizing its architecture.

  • Collaborating closely and leading offshore technical resources for Level 2 support (service team), reducing the number of tickets sent to Level 3 support (developers).

  • Supporting the expansion of the tool and rollout processes in multiple countries, by technically evaluating the architecture, advising, and aiding the connection of their local data sources.

  • Act as a Solution Design for Change Requests coming from the business.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Good understanding of Java applications and architecture.

  • Proficient in handling support at a second level, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

  • Have been working with supporting large business applications, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.

  • Strong background in SQL database management, infrastructure management, and cloud-based environments.

  • Effective at log analysis and using diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile methodologies; capable of working in a fast-paced, sprint-based environment.

  • Problem-solving mindset, with a proactive approach to handling incidents, service requests, and infrastructure challenges.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong experience in setting up and executing test strategies in a software development environment would be highly advantageous (manual and automated testing tools)

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with both internal teams and external partners – leading by example.

  • Basic knowledge of CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) applications.

  • Very proficient English. German is beneficial.

  • Supported large applications in the past.

  • Knowledge about Windows, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes. (around 1 year experience)

  • Good proficiency and experience in C# and SQL (around 3 years’ experience)
