Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th FSS Windy Trails Golf Course. The position is a flexible position, which means benefits are not available and hours are not guaranteed. Employee could work between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible to use certain base facilities such as the fitness center, lodging, pool and bowling center. Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to serve as the individual in charge of the Windy Trails Golf Pro Shop retail activity which includes retail sales, collection of activity and rental fees and associated task. Observes pertinent cash, security, merchandising, and administrative controls. Stays abreast of latest wearing apparel styles, new equipment, and accessories with a view toward improving selection of merchandise and to prevent overstocking outdated and undesirable items. Initiates requisition for approved merchandise when reorder points are reached. Creates pleasing displays on seasonal and promotional merchandise. Prices merchandise according to established formula and ensure that merchandise and shelf prices agree. Operates a cash register to record cash and charge sales. Collects money, makes change, and issues receipts. Provides work direction for one or two part time or full-time salesclerks who are engaged in receiving, storing, and displaying and selling merchandise. Recommends employee work schedule. Operates a personal computer to edit or revise materials. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Experience in retail sales is desirable. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Position is a position of trust and requires satisfactorily completion of a National Agency Check (NAC). MUST MEET MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR SERVING ALCOHOL BEVERAGES. Must complete food handler's training. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
