What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Manager, HRIS Position

As the Manager of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), you will lead a team responsible for all aspects of HR Technology. This position is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Colonial’s HR systems, including the Workday HCM Application and Cornerstone Learning Management system, to align with the strategic roadmap through collaboration across the Human Resources Organization. The Manager, HRIS is integral in the management of the design and implementation of innovative solutions, including assistance with a long-term support model, to provide value and thought leadership to the organization.

  • Manage direct reports to provide guidance, prioritization, and alignment to Colonial’s strategic objectives.

  • Lead HR technology inclusive of solution design, resource management, and implementation of best practices and innovative solutions based on business requirements.

  • Promote an inclusive approach to recruiting, hiring, and promoting employees.

  • Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and associated initiatives relative to the People-related landscape to satisfy customer demand for Colonial’s systems to maximize efficiencies and meet customer expectations.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for employees, management, and the Human Resources organization regarding HR technology.

  • Develop metrics leveraging employee data to communicate amongst leaders about issues and to drive resolution.

  • Lead evaluations of People technology and products for HR solutions and processes using industry standard benchmarks.

  • Manage the development and coordination of data integrity standards.

  • Provide guidance regarding HR Technology best practices.

  • Manage HR Technology projects including project development, functional requirements, resource management, and the implementation of best practices and innovative solutions.

  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of HRIS-related solutions.

  • Review project progress reports to ensure that projects are within budget, on time, and in line with goals.

  • Prioritize HRIS projects, work-orders enhancements and break fixes based on understanding of business needs.

  • Provide expertise in multiple modules in the Workday HCM suite including HCM Core, Benefits, Payroll, Time/Absence, Performance Management, and Recruiting.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or other related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience maintaining and implementing HR Technology solutions, with approximately 2-3 years focused on Workday.

  • Experience managing and coaching employees.

  • Experience implementing large-scale systems, configuration supporting HR systems, and working with internal and external partners.

  • Models behavior that is inclusive and honors the differences in individuals.

  • Actively stay abreast of changes in the HR technology landscape and has led internal partners through the impact of the change(s).

  • Ability to develop short and long-term plans to influence strategic, tactical, and tangible initiatives.

  • A passion for technology and continual improvement.

  • Strong customer service focus, driven to deliver timely solutions.

  • 7-8 years of IT, HRIS and/or data analytics experience.

  • Experience with Cornerstone a plus.

  • Project management experience.
