Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Terminal Scheduler with experience in refined products scheduling, inventory control software, and general knowledge in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team! Role Summary: The Terminal Scheduler role is responsible for managing adequate product inventory and tank utilization at assigned terminal location(s) by coordinating product movements with customers, terminal personnel, and 3 party companies' schedulers dealing with pipeline, marine vessel, truck, and rail product movements.  Terminal Scheduler "level" will be based on evaluation and application of the Terminal Scheduler Progression Matrix.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include: Customer Service. Providing exceptional customer service to terminal customers. Resolving customer questions, issues, and requests in a timely and satisfactory manner. Acts as the first-level Buckeye guide for their assigned customers to get issues to the right people/groups inside Buckeye. Understands and interprets business rules of engagement appropriately and can navigate through the nuances that are specific to the situation. Use of correct methods of communication for a given situation and correct tone to achieve positive customer interaction. Logistics, Planning, and Inventory Management Managing customer product inventory, nominations, and product allocations at each assigned Buckeye Terminal location based on current demands via communication with customers, terminal personnel, and pipeline schedulers to maximize tank utilization. Inventory Solutions - coordinating development of solutions to inventory containment and product outages with customers and supply sources. Terminal Knowledge - Pipeline origin and destination combination and flows, understanding of truck rack configurations, tank configurations, linefills, offloading, marine and/or rail capabilities (if applicable). Coverage of other schedulers' terminals while on time away from Buckeye. General knowledge of M&QC (Measurement and Quality Control) parameters for your assigned facilities. Ability to troubleshoot at the appropriate level Commercial Development Advises and works with commercial team on segregated/fungible tank leases, pre-and-during project involvement as appropriate. Assist with start-up of new business concepts at assigned terminals; can see the bigger picture impacts for customers past just the directly assigned terminals Administrative Works within and understands Buckeye proprietary Scheduling Tool and Terminal Customer Portal, Tophat/TMS (terminal management systems), and Transport. Terminal Operations Support. Works with terminal operators to manage and coordinate product volumes and movements into, out of, and within facility. Inventory investigations/reconciliation - daily and EOM (End of Month) inventory close assistance. Researching why drivers cannot load; check inventory levels, allocation, if products are set up for the account, and reviewing TMS event log Process Improvement Brainstorming ideas that apply practical understanding of current business practices to improve current processes or how to apply to new situations. Sees the bigger picture - awareness of (especially) Buckeye assets, organization, and Teams outside of Terminal Scheduling RVP Planning - (Reid Vapor Pressure) Manage inventory at terminal and stockholder levels to appropriately meet seasonal RVP date thresholds. Minimize any product downgrades, outages and any potential quality/regulatory issue Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills - works well under pressure and handles multiple tasks simultaneously Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: On-call for 24/7 support of the scheduler's assigned terminals High School Diploma or equivalent required College degree in business or logistics is preferred. 1+ year(s) related experience in refined products scheduling preferred. General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry or field operations is preferred. Proficiency using inventory control software products (such as Toptech Systems, Inc.) is preferred. Proficiency using Microsoft Office/365 suite of tools is required. Occasional travel (5%) may be required. Certificates & Licenses: None required Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities: Since this position includes contact with customers and field managers, excellent communication skills are required to be successful in this position. This position requires someone who can work well under pressure and can handle multiple tasks at once. Excellent organizational, quantitative and analytical skills are also critical to be successful in this position.  This position requires someone who has the ability to visualize inventory while considering client needs, weather conditions, product shortages, competitor's actions, etc. Essential Functions: This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards. This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. This position requires compliance with all personnel policies. Physical & Safety Requirements: This person must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response.
