POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Canada VP, the Sr. Manager of hydrogen assets plays a critical role in the business integration and commercial management of low-CI and traditional hydrogen assets (including pipeline networks) that are expected to receive a high level of customer, public, governmental and NGO scrutiny. This role will be key in addressing threats and opportunities created by this greater level of scrutiny.

The primary responsibility of the Asset Manager is to (1) effectively manage LCI H2 contracts connected to the assets once fully executed by business development, and (2) develop and execute the integration strategy of new LCI assets into the existing regional hydrogen business. The secondary responsibility is to support the commercial readiness of new assets through project execution as a key member of the Canada LCI H2 Leadership Team as well as market development activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Asset Management: Collaborating closely with operations and environmental, providing guidance on the overall commercial objectives, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, efficiency, cost management, and overall system optimization. Identify and develop the tools and processes required to ensure commercial and regulatory compliance to bring new LCI assets into the regional business management function. LCI Contract Management: Provide the local commercial inputs into project scope, contract negotiations, project structuring and financial modeling - including government incentives and regulatory credit revenues streams. Manage executed LCI asset related agreements, ensuring commercial and regulatory compliance, through the project execution phase. Support operations in the development of work process maps for the flow of plant issues through to successful commercial resolution. Risk Management: Develop a detail commercial and legal understanding of the facility contracts and how they interact and overlap. Complete risk analysis of all potential contract issues that are open to interpretation, potential interactions between the three contracts and situations we expect to occur in the first 1-2 years of operation. From the risk analysis, build out potential argument' from both Air Products and customer views and develop detailed strategies to resolve the risk / push probability of successful resolution in Air Products benefit. Project Execution: Provide regional leadership and coordination support to government, permitting, community, and key stakeholder outreach activities as required. Provide all necessary asset management for large projects through construction, commissioning, and commercialization to enable an orderly transition of the facility into the regional business management function. Stakeholder Engagement: Must have the ability to communicate effective to represent Air Products Canada in regional and national organizations and forums. Serve a an authoritative representative to internal and external audiences on technical, regulatory, policy, and market conditions that promote production and end-use markets for low-carbon hydrogen. Develop formal presentations integrating commercial and technical issues required for both internal stakeholders and external customers. Commercial Leadership: (1) Provide leadership and coordination across the organization to address threats and opportunities being created by the greater level of scrutiny seen for energy projects. (2) Be a key member of the Canada LCI H2 Leadership Team responsible for the commercial readiness of new LCI assets and the successful integration into the regional business management function. (3) Support the development of the existing regional business on the LCI assets with respect to operational objectives, carbon intensity, regulatory markets, revenues streams, and asset optimization - ensuring a successful transition of ownership.

JOB REQUIREMENTS The position requires an individual with strong commercial and technical experience as well as an overall understanding of large complex operations. The specific skills required include: Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering. MBA preferred > 10 years of relevant business/asset management experience. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Solid understanding (or ability to quickly learn) of the technical aspects of hydrogen feedstock sourcing, production, distribution and fueling. Ability to understand complex commercial contractual agreements, think through customers potential position on an issue and build strategy to support Air Products position aligned with the contract basis. Knowledge of Canada's regulatory & political landscape driving actions for decarbonization Experience with any of; large capital project development, environmental permitting, and/or regulatory compliance activities including directly working with government agencies considered an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across broad range of operational, technical, and commercial areas. Adept at quickly building working relationships internally and with customer sites.
