We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in the Paper/Packaging industry. Our team is based in ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania, and we are looking for someone with a strong background in Cisco Networking and a variety of other technical skills.

100% ONSITE in ALLENTOWN, PA

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support for our Cisco network environment, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security

• Manage network equipment and technology tools to ensure optimal performance

• Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation

• Monitor system performance and maintain systems according to requirements

• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, contributing to and maintaining IT infrastructure standards

• Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches for network and system administration tasks when possible

• Provide Tier 2 support and additional support as requested from the Service Desk or in case of events. Investigate and troubleshoot issues

• Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies

• Maintain problem tracking and technical knowledgebase to expedite resolution of future service requests

• Establish and implement 'best-practice' standards as well as departmental policies and procedures

• Operate within the defined standards of technical infrastructure, policies, and practices

Requirements • Proficient in Cisco Networking and Cisco Wireless

• Familiarity with Zscaler and Cisco ISE

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure

• Understanding of VLAN and Cisco Catalyst Switches

• Knowledge and experience with Active Directory

• Cisco CCNA certification is preferred

• Comptia Network+ certification is a plus

• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall and Palo Alto Networks

• Comfortable with Meraki

• Must have excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a team and independently

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
