Robert Half Bookkeeper in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering a role in the healthcare industry, specifically in medical billing, claims, and collections, based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The role involves the management and processing of customer credit applications and records, as well as the resolution of related inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Accumulate and input defined ancillary charges for clients such as laboratory, pharmacy, etc.

• Prepare and submit claims through various channels including clearinghouses and direct data entry

• Monitor claims payment amounts to ensure accuracy

• Handle claim rejections at the clearinghouse and payer level, submitting adjustments as needed

• Compose and submit appeals to insurance companies where necessary

• Accept and log cash receipts in accordance with cash posting processes

• Monitor accounts receivables aging list and follow up with payers as per the Collections Policy

• Refer claim follow-ups to collection agency when appropriate

• Document all claims research and activity in the claims billing software

• Verify insurance benefits in relation to claims processing

• Respond timely to regulatory requests, ensuring compliance with payer timeframes and regulations

• Address inquiries relating to the specific area of work

• Complete annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibit behavior as set out in the guidelines

Requirements • Proficient in Medicare policies and procedures

• Extensive experience in Medical Billing

• Knowledge of Claims Processing in the healthcare industry

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficient with healthcare billing software

• Strong understanding of medical terminologies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented and able to maintain high levels of accuracy

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

• Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws in the healthcare industry

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

• Proven experience in handling high volume of medical billing and claims

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Familiarity with the NHS system and its operations.
