Who we are looking for:

Are you a high-performing and strategic leader with a passion for prospect development and fundraising? If so, we have the perfect role for you! We are currently seeing a talented and results-driven Portfolio Manager to lead our prospect development functions and strategy.

As a critical member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing prospect portfolios, pipeline management, research, and analysis, while collaborating closely with our Relationship Managers to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead prospect assignment process to achieve appropriately balanced portfolios for both Individual and Institutional Relationship Managers.
  • Manage and regularly review major, planned, and principal gift pipeline.
  • Manage prospect research and wealth screening vendors.
  • Plan, organize, and participate in regular prospect review meetings, providing key donor insights and strategy to staff and advising on plans for engagement and solicitation.
  • Lead and conduct regular portfolio management meetings with each Relationship Manager to evaluate changes in portfolio balance and the need to grow or refresh portfolios.
  • Lead pipeline-building efforts through research.
  • Provide managers with reporting of staff progress to achieving metrics.
  • Develop planned giving marketing lists based on research results.
  • Develop and expand upon policies, procedures, and systems necessary for the identification, evaluation, and tracking of prospects.
  • Manage and maintain rating system and department-wide adherence to contact report and proposal recording system and deadlines.
  • Lead analysis in tracking and reporting on wealth screening and research results.
  • Conduct prospect analysis to inform proactive research activities.
  • Work with Individual and Institutional fundraising leadership to envision and anticipate future department needs.
  • Participate intensively in campaign planning.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 5 years of experience in donor prospect management and research and a thorough working knowledge and understanding of best practices related to prospect research and fundraising.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the fundraising process and donor cycles, and knowledg of current trends in fundraising and donor prospecting.
  • Familiarity with wealth capacity, affinity, and inclination scores.
  • Experience conceptualizing, developing, and implementing proactive prospecting methodologies to identify potential major, planned and principal gift donors.
  • Working knowledge of current prospect research technologies and databases.

  • Advanced analytical skills to synthesize a high volume of information from a variety of sources and perform complex analysis
  • Enthusiastic about the application of analytics and use of technology, and a desire to improve efficiencies to the prospect management system.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, with the ability to clearly convey and receive information.
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
