Job Summary:

Akima Data Management is currently seeking an OPSEC Security Specialist III to work in Alexandria, VA in support of our customer. The chosen candidate must possess expert knowledge of OPSEC and related basic security principles, concepts, policy, procedures, and methodology, in addition to the necessary skills required to apply this knowledge and provide security advice, and assistance on a wide range of security issues.To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements security procedures and policies in coordination with government agencies and management personnel

  • Coordinates and collaborates with other security and information operations

  • Ensures the safeguard of information that is useful to adversaries and potential adversaries

  • Consults with project managers to develop and implement protection policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect classified or sensitive technological elements and mitigate program vulnerabilities

  • Plans, tracks, synchronizes, and participates in program protection working groups with agency stakeholders and external agencies as required

  • Maintains process to identify and mitigate indicators of U.S. intentions, capabilities, operations, and activities

  • Strong experience supporting OPSEC assessments and/or surveys a Major command or Defense Agency

  • Conducts OPSEC Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and provides the assessment results and makes security recommendations as necessary to site personnel

  • Advises leadership of countermeasures to deny adversaries and potential adversary indicators that reveal critical information about DoD missions and functions

  • Participates in the development of security education programs

  • Requires OPSEC training experience

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required

  • Experience as a practitioner of established OPSEC objectives, policies and procedures outlined in the National Security Presidential Memorandum 28 (NSPM-28), Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Instruction (CJCSI 3213.01D), Chairman Joint Chief of Staff -Joint Pub 3-13-3 and other regulations and manuals

  • Experience working with National Counterintelligence and Security Center Enterprise Threat Directorate, or its predecessor the Interagency OPSEC Support Staff National OPSEC Program

  • Proof of completion of OPSEC Level II Program Manager certificate (from DoD) or OPSEC Analysis and OPSEC Program Management certificates (from NCSC) and be knowledgeable of other security disciplines (information, physical, industrial, operations, and personnel, SCI).

  • A combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Active Top-Secret SCI Clearance Required
