Action Facilities Management HVAC Mechanic in Alexandria Bay, New York

Job Summary:The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC equipment. They will be assigned a variety of work tickets related to the maintenance of the facility.Pay Rate: $36.41 per hourEssential Job Functions:Performs the maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and effects repairs on a large variety of types of refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems equipment and controlAnalyze, plan, and perform preventative maintenance of HVAC systems throughout the facilityInstall, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling unitsDiagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systemsEnsure compliance with all relevant plumbing, electrical, safety, and building codesEnsure the proper working order of the major mechanical and electrical components of all facilitiesMaintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipmentAssemble and connect pipes and ducts used in piping refrigerants, steam, hot water, and warm or conditioned airOverhaul and repair pumps, compressors, controls, piping ducts, and other equipment used in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systemsCalibrate thermostatsRepair and maintain a variety of refrigeration unit systemsInspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctionsTroubleshoot, repair, and make modifications to HVAC systemsAdhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statutesMaintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and Federal regulationsOrder and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC EquipmentProperly maintain and safeguard assetsMaintain safe chemical storage as deemedAttends all necessary trainingOther Duties as assignedEquipment Used:Tools and equipment related to the operation and maintenance of HVAC systemsOffice equipment such as tablets, computers, fax machines, printers, phones, etc.Required Skills, Experience, and Education:HS Diploma or EquivalentEPA Universal Certification3 years of experience as an HVAC Mechanic for large commercial or industrial type facilitiesExperience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems including but not limited to: chilled water systems; hot water systems; VAV systems; steam heating systems; air conditioning systems; Building Automation Control SystemsAbility to obtain and maintain a government clearance, upon hireExceptional verbal and written communicationStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasksAbility to multi-taskAbility to effectively present information and respond to questionsProficiency in using Microsoft and email applicationsAbility to work independently or in a team environmentAbility to effectively utilize available resources to maximize productivityAbility to read schematics and mechanical blueprintsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rulesExperience in Geothermal, preferredPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
