Your role at Clorox:

Research and develop Packaging for R&D by leading, assisting and supporting selected regional and local projects in the company across LATAM.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop new and innovative packaging, or redesign of current pack solutions including technologies of rigid, flexible and secondary packaging.

  • Work in the lab and manufacturing plant to evaluate packaging for consumer delight, compatibility, and performance testing (ship test, drop test, etc), for secondary packaging.

  • Design and execute production line trials for new components, identifying learning opportunities and making recommendations.

  • Build Primary and Secondary Pack specifications as well as design products pallet patterns.

  • Consumer understanding/concepts to be applied on new pipeline ideas and applied to projects. Proficiently applies science or engineering to creatively solve problems and achieve project results in multiple areas putting the consumer in the center.

  • Helps define, follow and encourage others to follow best practices within a technical function. Proficiently selects and applies known technology from inside and outside sources to achieve business results within and across business units.

  • Trains, mentors, and helps onboard new and less experienced staff generating synergic work communities inside and outside R&D.

  • Capable of leading a technical multicultural team, effectively communicating to internal clients and stakeholders to convey project information linking it with strategy.

  • Operates independently, sets expectations and clarity of purpose with manager and LT

  • Deep and fluent connection with rest of team members of the Global R&D Org (BA and California) and outside R&D (MKT, Procurement, F&A, etc)

What we look for:

Years and Type of Experience

  • 5+ years experience (in consumer goods industry preferential). Multinational Companies of CPG related to foods, drinks, home cleaning products, cosmetics, etc.

  • BS or MS in relevant science or engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience in Process Development and flexibility to learn other capabilities such as formula development will be taken into consideration.

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English skills, both written and oral.

  • Flexible with changes in project direction.

  • Strong leadership skills to expand technical expertise and solve constraints

  • Ability to work independently and implement multiple projects in a timely manner.

  • Excellent networking skills – interface with cross-functional groups at all levels.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence team members and peers. Clarity of purpose and ability to interpret business needs and turn them into technical solutions using available technologies and creativity.

  • High motivation and proactivity in project execution/coordination.

  • Curiosity and interest in working with and for other cultures and ways of thinkings appreciating diversity.

  • Willingness and time availability to travel internationally.
