Summary As a Transportation Management Specialist in the Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Operations Division (OD), Operational Planning and Scheduling Branch (OPSB), your primary responsibility will be to negotiate, coordinate and manage various classifications of operational agreements for Special Nuclear Material (SNM) custody transfers, both foreign and domestic. Responsibilities As a Transportation Management Specialist, you will: Act as the principal contact for all matters relating to physical security operational issues associated with the operation of the Transportation Safeguards System (TSS), performed in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE), (NNSA) strategic mission. - Responsible for preparations and planning to implement established operation plans. - Develop operational plans, goals, objectives and milestones to assure effective convoy operations. - Integrate technical requirements, personnel, schedules, operations, and other sensitive issues into a comprehensive inter-agency security operations plan. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: This position requires one year of experience in the next lower pay band. This is a secondary position which must include experience as a Nuclear Materials Courier. Examples of Specialized Experience: 1. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the OST mission to effectively analyze and resolve critical transportation problems. 2. Provide agency and/or interagency advice through policy guidance on OST transportation activities. 3. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Transportation Safeguards System (TSS). "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
