Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will be a technical lead and technical contact for customers. As a technical lead, this position will assist in defining the projects schedule, budget, system requirements, conceptual designs, and resource plan.

  • Work as Technical Lead - the primary technical contact for the client and technical leader of a multidiscipline project team.
  • Review work products, provide design feedback and help to mitigate technical challenges.
  • Prepare and install planning/requirement/test/certification solutions in accordance with project specifications and standards.
  • Engage in client project initiatives that involve the development and delivery of turn-key hardware and software deliverables.
  • Provide advice on project costs, design concepts and design changes.
  • Ensure projects use appropriate hardware/software/system architectures.
  • Prepare deliverables such as planning documents, requirements documents, design documents, review documents, test strategy, test scripts, and reports.
  • Ensure appropriate metrics and performance goals are in place to measure and communicate progress.
  • Identify Intellectual Property (IP) created for projects that is suitable for company reuse libraries and/or future product development.
  • Mentor new team members through required training.
  • Work as a development engineer within the project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in computer/electrical engineering or another related field.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience and 3+ years leading projects.
  • Experience developing and integrating software into complex systems for mission-critical applications.
  • Experience leading system integration and test activities.
  • Experience in a safety critical regulated industry is a plus.
  • Prior experience cultivating and leading others to grow with respect to their technical abilities.
  • Successful history of owning and executing task responsibility.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Active DoD Top Secret or DoE Q security clearance required.
