Job Summary

Performs complex billing activities such as processing aging reports, complicated or sensitive customer service issues, private insurance, Medicare and/or Medicaid pending claims and denials. Sets an example with behavior and attitude that exemplifies an eagerness to satisfy, develop positive relationships with clients, patients, residents, and resident representatives, co-workers, payers, and enhance public relations through verbal communication. Multitask-oriented, and possess the ability to use problem solving and judgment call skills daily. Has knowledge, which is unique to the reference industry relative to billing and insurance rules and regulations; uses knowledge to maintain accurate accounts receivable for patient/resident and client accounts. May be involved in the education and training of new employees and other health care professionals. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education or equivalent training in a health care or business related field is required; Associate's degree preferred.

Must have at least three years of applicable experience, with previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Computer skills sufficient to operate on-line systems and complex software with advanced functionality. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to interpret and apply policies and procedures for clarification and problem resolution.
