Job Summary:

The Lean Engineer will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, and enhancing overall operational efficiency within the manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will utilize Lean principles and methodologies to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and contribute to the achievement of the company's goals for quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes related to production.

  • Implement Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize waste in the production workflow.

  • Value Stream Mapping:

  • Conduct value stream mapping to analyze and visualize current state processes, identifying areas for improvement and future state design.

  • Kaizen Events:

  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to drive rapid improvement in specific areas of the manufacturing process.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes resulting from Kaizen initiatives.

  • Standard Work Development:

  • Establish and update standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in manufacturing processes.

  • Work closely with production teams to ensure adherence to standard work and continuous improvement.

  • Data Analysis:

  • Utilize data analysis tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.

  • Develop reports to communicate performance metrics and improvement progress to stakeholders.

  • Training and Development:

  • Provide training on Lean principles and methodologies to employees at all levels.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and Lean thinking throughout the organization.

  • Supplier Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize the supply chain and implement Lean principles in procurement and materials management.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to integrate Lean practices into quality control processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

The qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience in implementing Lean methodologies within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in relevant ERP systems, SAP strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and solar tracker manufacturing is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Certification in Lean or Six Sigma is desirable.

  • Ability to write/read/speak Spanish highly desirable.

  • Ability to propose, modify and create new lay-out.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting requirements: 50lbs.

  • Standing hours: 90%

  • Computer hours: 10%

  • Work environment is fast paced, noise and temperature levels can vary.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We do require a background check.

  • We do require a drug screen.

  • We do require you to complete a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) to make sure you are physically capable of performing the work. This must be completed prior to starting.

Safety:

  • If your role requires the wearing of steel-toed boots, the company will reimburse employees $50 per pair every two years.

  • Array operates under strict guidelines and safety standards. Ear protection, hard hats, and standard non-prescription safety glasses are provided by the company.
