Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role is essential to the day-to-day financial operations of our organization, with duties ranging from preparing financial forecasts to providing financial advice using data. The Controller will also play a crucial role in meeting corporate requirements, ensuring accuracy of physical inventory, and managing a small accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations within the organization.

• Prepare and present monthly financial reports and forecasts.

• Develop, implement, and manage financial accounting procedures to guide financial decisions.

• Establish, maintain, and monitor appropriate internal control safeguards; identify problem areas and develop corrective actions.

• Support sales operations by providing necessary financial data and insights.

• Ensure proper filing of periodic sales and use taxes with local and state authorities, as well as annual state property tax returns.

• Manage inventory, including cycle counting, monthly and annual checks.

• Schedule expenditures and initiate corrective actions to meet budget objectives.

• Analyze financial statements and management reports to identify business trends and potential risks/opportunities.

• Cost accounting

• Evaluate operating costs and profit margins and advise management on improving efficiency and profitability.

• Provide financial analysis as needed for operational and strategic requirements.

• Ensure records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Review and assume responsibility for interim and yearly audits.

• Oversee cash disbursements, cash receipts, monitoring of delinquent accounts

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficiency in ERP Solutions and familiarity with various accounting software

• Expertise in all accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in auditing processes and procedures

• Ability to lead and manage budget processes effectively

• Skilled in handling month-end close activities

• Experience in conducting annual physical inventory and cycle counts

• Ability to prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements

• Skilled in preparing financial statements and related documents

• Proficiency in monthly reporting and financial forecasting

• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles and US GAAP regulations
