Robert Half Business Development Officer in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Description

We are looking to bring on board a dynamic Business Development Officer in the retail industry. This position is based in Santa Fe New Mexico and is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing various day-to-day activities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving our market share through strategic planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for the overall profitability of the branch by overseeing sales, warehousing, pricing, and customer relations.

• Manage branch office expenditures for supplies and equipment within set budgets.

• Handle critical customer complaints and service problems efficiently and professionally.

• Attend and participate in company meetings, industry conferences, and conventions.

• Make informed decisions by identifying, evaluating, and assimilating relevant information.

• Participate in personal development activities as directed by management, such as attending vendor training courses and keeping informed about company plans, marketing and sales goals, and policies.

• Prepare special reports for management as required.

• Oversee dispatching and scheduling pick-ups and deliveries, managing employee time off and overtime, and staying current on payables.

• Conduct ongoing training and cross-training for all employees.

• Communicate regularly with Service Manager to ensure timely servicing of equipment and maintenance of the fleet.

• Ensure annual inspections are current for all rental equipment and semi-trucks.

• Manage clerical activities such as balancing cash drawers, making bank deposits, and checking mailboxes.

• Issue necessary credits and fill out paperwork for vendor claims in a timely manner.

• Manage vendor relationships, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating staff as needed in conjunction with Human Resources.

• Set minimum and maximum inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and manage inventory in conjunction with purchasing.

• Assist Corporate Fleet Manager with evaluation of rental equipment and transfers as necessary.

• Communicate with Accounts Payables on buy out purchases and other credit card usage.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the retail /heavy equipment industry

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Experience with Management Systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Proven track record in Business Development

• Ability to identify and pursue Business Opportunities

• Experience in Campaign Planning

• Knowledge of Asset Inventory

• Ability to Perform Cycle Count

• Experience in managing Work Orders

• Capability to Create Purchase

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Managing Budgets

• Familiarity with Human Resources (HR) Administration

• Experience in managing Department Projects

• Ability to Maintain Vendor Files

• Experience with External Vendor

• Proven ability to Manage Vendor Relationships
