Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Albany, New York. This role is in the manufacturing industry and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity to brainstorm and problem-solve with a collaborative team and to expand or strengthen your skillset in a new industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for tasks such as cash reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger, as well as handling inventory closing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cash reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Conduct bank reconciliations to validate the company's cash records

• Handle inventory closing duties, ensuring timely and accurate processing

• Maintain the general ledger, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers

• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

Requirements • Proficient in Cash Reconciliations

• Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiar with General Ledger management

• Skilled in performing Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• At least two years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
