Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field (such as social sciences and public health), and three years of experience in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.A master’s degree in one of the above fields may substitute for one year of the experience. A doctoral degree in one of the above fields may substitute for the two years of specialized experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in all aspects of coordinating a large project; proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled and experienced in delivering technical information to various audiences; work in a public health or nutrition program. Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Duties Description This position is located in the Division of Nutrition, Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs, Food Delivery and Vendor Management Section (FDVMS) of the New York State WIC Program. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the design and implementation of the WIC Shopping Improvement Project. The project is currently grant-funded through the United States Department of Agriculture through September 2024, with an extension expected. The project will require the use of available survey data on current shopping practices and make recommendations for improvement based on the information obtained. The Project Coordinator will develop a Project Team, implement project communication plans, and work in collaboration with members of the Project Team to develop and execute recruitment and engagement plans for key stakeholders, including WIC participants and their families, WIC vendors, and WIC office staff. The incumbent will work in collaboration with Division of Nutrition colleagues to collect and analyze data to inform the State’s development and execution of an shopping solutions to increase benefit utilization and participant engagement. This position will supervise a Project Assistant.

Additional Comments This position is a full-time temporary project appointment.
