Broadview FCU Compliance Analyst in Albany, New York

Summary of Role:

This role will work with all operational areas and business units to inform, support and guide them in maintaining an enterprise-wide compliance program. R esponsible for the ongoing development and performance of the Credit Union’s Compliance Monitoring programs.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor regulatory, legal, and technological developments in all areas of the financial services industry, including payment systems, mobile banking and electronic communication and remote transaction related activities , and advise the business on the same.

  • Prepare periodic reports, executive summaries, and compliance reviews to executive management and the Board regarding new laws and regulations and legislation and changes to existing laws and regulations, when appropriate .

  • Participate in and advise o n the design and implementation of new products and services including initial compliance review for feasibility .

  • Coordinate implementation of regulatory compliance changes.

  • Research and r espond to compliance-related and other questions and inquiries from all operational areas of the credit union .

  • Research and complete special projects and assignments, as needed.

  • Assist with content development for all areas of regulatory and compliance training, including the annual training for Bank Secrecy Act and other training opportunities as they arise .

  • Promptly provide documentation and information requested by regulators and internal and external auditors during examinations .

  • Initiate contact and provide information and guidance to internal credit union departments on a regular basis in response to new laws and regulations , changes to existing laws and regulations , and when guidance documents and other information is issued by regulators and trade associations .

  • Work with operational business owners to review and revise credit union forms, disclosures, rate sheets, fee schedules, policies , procedures , and operational manuals for compliance with applicable laws and regulations .

  • Review Marketing collateral and other communications and materials sent to members, staff and the public for regulatory compliance requirements .

  • Assist with p repar ation and fil ing comment letters to state and federal regulators on pending regulations .

  • Participate, as needed, in responding to member complaints related to noncompliance, considering the nature of the complaint, credit union policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations .

  • Update and retain the field of membership section of the Charter and initiate tickets for updates and changes as needed .

  • A ssist with reviews of new membership requests .

  • Maintain knowledge of current and pending federal and state laws and regulations affecting the financial services industry .

  • Perform compliance risk assessments in conjunction with business owners for all operational areas of the credit union using credit union -approved software .

  • Interpret data from risk assessments to determine gaps in processes or procedures and work with business unit owners on remediation plans.

  • Execute on high-risk monitoring activities as dictated by the Credit Union’s Enterprise Risk Assessment.

  • Perfo r m internal control 2 nd line monitoring as indicated in the compliance monitoring module.

  • As directed by manage ment , complete reviews of monitoring reports (daily, weekly, monthly) with appropriate follow - up.

    Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor ’ s Degree in Business Administration

  • Minimum of five (5) experience in Compliance or Risk a rea and/or a combination of education and experience.

  • Strong communications both oral and written.

  • Able to grasp complex regulations and provide clear and concise staff instructions.

  • Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook with ability to learn other software as needed.

  • Exhibits strong attention to detail, project planning, and multi-tasking skills

    Starting Compensation: $60,329 - $73,903, plus a competitive benefits package.
