Salary Range: $15.00 - $24.19 per hour
Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Purpose/Objective :
Under the direction of designated Commercial Credit Officers, the Commercial Credit Underwriter Intern works with the Credit Underwriting team to analyze corporate financial statements and prepare loan approval memoranda to facilitate lending decisions on middle market commercial loan requests, Asset Based Lending and Commercial Real Estate loan requests. The Commercial Credit Underwriter Intern investigates and analyzes credit risks and provides recommendations including appropriate risk rating for credit requests.
Key Accountabilities :
Prepares concise written reports to facilitate lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans and other bank facilities, for middle market borrowers. Reports include a recommended credit rating, summary of facts, identification of key borrower and industry risks and mitigating factors, as well as a complete and accurate statement of the bank’s borrowing relationship.
Analyzes and spreads financial statements and tax returns to assess the financial condition of existing and new borrowers and their financial viability. Assesses the adequacy of collateral. Analyzes and assesses trends, ratios, and cash flow.
Obtains and reviews pertinent management, industry, financial and collateral information from the credit file or outside sources. Determines additional information/investigation needs and contacts appropriate sources to ensure a complete analysis.
Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
Education:
Rising Senior or recent graduate
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Experience:
Applicable coursework in degree field.
Previous internships helpful but not required
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge of both financial and managerial accounting
Computer skills (Word, Excel & Power Point)
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
