Albany Medical Center Administrative Coordinator - Practice Administration in Albany, New York

Administrative Coordinator

Location – Albany, NY

We have an exciting opportunity for health care employees or entry level candidates looking to join our team as an Administrative Coordinator.

An ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both independently and on a team. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday during normal business hours.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as initial contact and coordinator for patients.

  • Responsible for tracking, coordination and communication of patient referrals

  • Coordinate all necessary appointments and follow-up procedures while focusing on excellent patient relations.

  • Prioritizes referrals by their urgency and addresses them in a timely manner

  • Enters complete demographic, Insurance information and appropriate clinical information is entered into our electronic health record, EPIC

  • Requires strong multi-tasking capabilities.

  • Point of contact for patients and specialists. Assist in problem solving potential issues related to their referral.

  • Requires adherence to strict confidentiality guidelines and full adherence to HIPPA regulations

Education:

  • Associates Degree required

    Minimum Qualifications ­­­­­­­­­­­

  • One-two years of related experience in a medical practice

  • Working knowledge of computer-based applications and strong PC/ keyboard skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in decision making.

  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated time management skills.

  • Ability to handle high workload volume with many variables, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

  • Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal), demonstrating the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse population.

  • Prior experience in customer service.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a team unit.

  • Previous EPIC experience preferred.

Salary Range: $19.78/hr - $31.66/hr
