We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will play a vital part in our financial operations, with a focus on ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions. This will involve working with vendor bills, credit card transactions, and maintaining precise records.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and efficient processing and management of vendor bills for payment.

• Downloading, coding, and reconciling credit card transactions in accordance with our financial guidelines.

• Building and maintaining relationships with vendor contacts, including setting up new vendors as required.

• Ensuring W-9 forms are received from new vendors before initial payments are issued and updating these forms annually.

• Conducting monthly reviews of accounts payable ledgers to identify missing routine bills and other discrepancies.

• Drafting the monthly 1099 vendor report for review by the accounting manager.

• Utilizing a range of software tools, including Bill.com, Oracle, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

• Ensuring all data entries are accurate and efficiently processed.

• Assisting in the check runs as required.

• Actively participating in the process of account reconciliation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP) processes

• Experience with conducting check runs

• Proficient in systems usage and the AP process

• Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
