Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Center is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span 11 of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 330 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.

As a Shared Resources Coordinator at the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), you will be responsible for the administration of UFHCC managed shared resources. This includes the administration of grants allocations, effort, cost recovery, and other activities in support of the aims and mission of the shared resources. Exhibiting poise, tact, a professional demeanor and attitude, possessing excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly is necessary for success in this role.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting Shared Resource Director(s) with the management of staff payroll and leave requests, including the management of systems and payroll approvals, as necessary.

  • Preparing scheduled metrics reports for use by shared resources leadership, working closely with the Shared Resource Director(s) and Research Intelligence to refine and analyze collected data.

  • Working with Research Development to identify publications and grants highlighting Shared Resource usage, coordinating and cataloguing the creation of impactful vignettes highlighting Shared Resource usage and preparing examples to present in Shared Resource administrative meetings

  • Receiving, training, and relaying requests for shared resource usage to appropriate UFHCC managed shared resource teams, providing support to developing MOUs and other materials as needed

This is an experienced, professional-level position, ideal for candidates with experience in research administration and/or administratively supporting lab operations in an academic research environment. A complete job description will be provided to candidates selected for interview.

Expected Salary:

$45,000-$55,000; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Research Administration, or another relevant discipline.

  • Three to five years’ experience in research administration, shared resource management, or similar, with preference for experience in an NCI-designated cancer center or similar, complex NIH funded center.

  • Basic knowledge of the programs and processes of primary granting agencies, to include, but not limited to, NIH, NSF, DOD, and other federal sponsors, state and private foundation regulations and requirements, as well as other corporate and private sponsors.

  • Experience and/or knowledge of research operations in a complex academic institution, preference given to experience in an NCI designated cancer center or similar NIH funded center.
