Stark State College Program Coordinator of Practical Nursing in Akron, Ohio

This position is a full-time position with direct responsibility for the coordination of the PN Program and for providing instruction to students within the PN courses. This position is a 180-day contract plus a 40-day supplemental contract. Typical Responsibilities Include: Supervision of PN instructors and adjunct instructors.Oversight of the PN program curriculum and course offerings.Instruction within the PN courses including preparation of curriculum, creation of assignments and tests, lectures, and student evaluations.Participation in student recruitment and advising for potential nursing students and current nursing students.Participation in the Systematic Plan of Evaluation with follow through for program improvement.Serving on College committees and participating in professional development that will improve teaching and professional knowledge and skills. To Be Considered You Need: A minimum of a Master's degree. If the master's degree is not in nursing, then requirement is for a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with the Master's degree in another field;A minimum of five years of current experience as an RN and two years of experience as a faculty member teaching in a nursing education program;Must be a Registered Nurse with a current, active, unrestricted license in the state of Ohio;Current certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association;Recent clinical experience in acute care; andTeaching experience in a Practical Nursing program is preferred.
