Community Support Services Inc Maintenance Repair III in Akron, Ohio

*The Opportunity: *We are seeking to hire a Maintenance Repair III to join our Maintenance team. This individual will provide a safe and efficient work environment for staff, clients, and visitors. Responsible for the care and operation of all environments of care functions within the facilities operated by Community Support Services.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Complete work order requests assigned.
  • Perform semi-skilled and skilled carpentry repairs (e.g., doors, cabinets, chairs, desks, floors, walls, windows, stairways, partitions).
  • Perform semi-skilled & skilled maintenance & repair of equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, fluorescent light ballasts, motors, and appliances).
  • Repair or replace locking hardware on doors, windows, cabinets, and desks.
  • Perform semi-skilled & skilled repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, garbage disposals, heating, air conditioning).
  • Operate and maintain equipment for snow removal and lawn care, including periodic preventive maintenance service.
  • Deliver or make other necessary trips to pick up or deliver materials/documents as requested.
  • Material handling, including moving furniture, receiving deliveries, conference room setup, loading and unloading trucks, retrieving or storing document archives.
  • Proper cleanup and disposal of biohazardous material.
  • Perform annual, semiannual, monthly, and periodic inspections and service equipment and systems throughout the agency.
  • Maintains inventory of tools and supplies, requisitions materials as necessary to complete assignments.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in general building and grounds maintenance or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in residential and commercial plumbing repair and fixture installation.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in residential and commercial electrical repair and installation.
  • Experience operating powered snow removal equipment including a truck mounted snowplow.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift at least 80 pounds required.
  • A car and a valid Ohio driver's license and insurability through the Agency's insurance carrier required.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work non-judgmentally with individuals whose behavior and belief systems are incongruent with that of society and/or your personal beliefs.
