GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting with the daily preparation and delivery of meals to congregate sites, home delivered meals, Valor Home residents, and catered events.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reading comprehension and basic math for following directions, record-keeping, and reporting.
Ensure that all meal preparation is completed daily as assigned by the kitchen administrator.
Covers all job duties of kitchen administrator when they are not present.
Heat, follow portion control, and serve meals according to sanitation procedures.
Follow all sanitation and safety rules for handling food (i.e., food samples, temperatures, safe serve, dining areas and maintenance of equipment.
Portion and pack home-delivered meals as approved by the agency as well as prepare/serve Valor Home residents lunch and dinner.
Attend required scheduled training/meetings, on and off the worksite.
Respond to food concerns discreetly and report same to supervisor.
Perform all duties as assigned.
Represent Mobile Meals and Valor Home positively to the community.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Ability to foster a cooperative and accountable work environment.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Reading comprehension and basic math skills.
Knowledge of food service procedures for preparation, storing, handling and distributing food.
Maintains a clean and neat appearance.
Ability to follow direction and organize tasks, and maintains a positive attitude.
An understanding of poverty and an ability to relate to people from all economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Must be ServSafe certified and maintain current certification or willing to obtain.
Must have valid Ohio driver's license and auto insurance. Must be insurable under F&CS commercial auto insurance.
Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: High School equivalency preferred. Must have or willing to take and pass a Safe Serve certification.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in food service preferred.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: *Ability to lift, bend, twist, carry and transfer pans of food (maximum 30#).
Ability to bend over sinks for intermittent periods of time to wash pans and do general cleanup.
