Electrical Department Manager - Akron, OH - JOB 24-00262 Salary Range: $120K - $165K Permanent Position with Benefits A growing A&E consulting firm in Akron is seeking an Electrical Department Manager. Key responsibilities include performing as the lead Electrical Engineer on single or multi-discipline projects, directing the work of personnel and ensuring all standards are monitored. Design and specification of transformers, motor control centers, switchgear, power and control panels, generators, grounding systems, lighting systems, security and fire alarm systems, heat tracing systems and related industrial plant systems. Perform basic power system equipment commissioning and start-up in the field. Review supplier quotations and create bid tabulations. Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) license and Industry related training certification(s) preferred. • Ten years' minimum experience working in at least three (3) of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers/Resins compounding, and Manufacturing. • Must have knowledge of industrial power systems (project execution including conceptualization, funding, design, construction, and commissioning) • Must have experience with industrial power and lighting systems and industrial control systems. • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP and Revit software. • Experience with National Electrical Code, NFPA 30, NFPA 497, NFPA 499, IEEE 1584, Building Codes and NFPA70E. • Experience with power systems, overcurrent protection, protective relaying, power system device coordination, Arc Flash Studies. • Experience with control wiring schematic diagrams and detail control drawings. • Must be able to specify power system distribution equipment through 35kV. • Position may require some domestic overnight travel.
