Interacts routinely with customers, co-team members, business units and division management to communicate all customer-related

information to ensure premiere customer service. Provide technical support to customers and other team members. Complete design setup for

new and revised product and assist with drafting as directed by Engineering supervisor.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Under general supervision of Engineering leadership, handles regular drafting duties. Under general supervision of product manager, provide

technical customer service by handling technical inquiries for all products, including but not limited to reworks, government, and competitive

interchange using judgement that benefits customer service and preserves division profitability. Works with business unit to facilitate customer

requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Timely response to all customer inquiries, while working closely with engineering to meet customer needs.

  • Assist product sales manager with the development of service and catalog literature, crossover competitors model number, and identify dated

    number and old/obsolete numbers.

  • Create final assembly, sub-assembly and component drawings to customer design utilizing CAD.

  • Convert customer layouts to final assembly manufacturing drawings.

  • Prepare bills of materials and specifications when drawings are complete.

  • Ensure the initiation, accuracy and maintenance of Engineering Change Notices (ECN's).

  • Interacts closely with both Manufacturing Personnel and Engineers in order to complete jobs.

  • Interpret drawings for assembly and test specs for manufacturing.

  • Instruct assembly and test on non-standard models.

  • Recommends changes to refine and enhance products and process by applying continuous improvement principles and techniques.

High School Graduate.

Knowledge of mechanical drawing, elementary mechanics and strength of materials.

Four-year degree in technical related field or equivalent experience.

Working knowledge of CAD.
