The Ajax packaging facility, where these positions are based, is one of the largest employers in Ajax and Durham Region. We provide innovative packaging solutions to the beverage market and serve name brand customers such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Labatt and Molson to name a few.

The Job Opportunity:

The Smurfit Westrock Ajax facility is looking for Feeders to work in our Finishing department. This position is responsible for safely feeding gluing machines with cartons, perform quality checks, assist Gluer Operators, communicate and work together with your team, relieve Packers for breaks and keep up with housekeeping duties. What you need to succeed:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or printing environment considered an asset.

  • Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift on a concrete floor and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Can do attitude and willingness to learn and grow with the Company

  • Ability to adapt to changes in priorities, work independently and with a team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.

Shift Schedule:

Must be able to work all 12 hour rotating shifts:

  • Days: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

  • Nights: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

  • Shifts rotate every two weeks and include weekends

  • Shifts include continental pay premiums
