Step into a pivotal role as our Senior Production Planner and spearhead the seamless execution of product creation from inception to delivery. At the heart of our operations in Aiken, SC, you will ensure that every process, schedule, and system aligns perfectly to meet our ambitious goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including master schedulers, production, engineering, quality, and procurement to guarantee that we not only meet but exceed customer expectations while optimizing inventory levels.

A Day In The Life

  • Efficiently schedule and manage all new customer orders within 3 days of receipt, ensuring alignment with communicated lead times.

  • Utilize SAP to create planned, firm planned, and production orders, driving demand for both production and procurement, and proactively convert firm planned orders into production orders 30 days ahead of the Customer Promise Ship Date (CPSD).

  • Actively monitor and adjust open orders and promise ship dates based on MRP changes, while maintaining accurate daily production schedules in SAP to ensure proper inventory recording.

  • Oversee capacity planning, promptly addressing any potential issues with the master scheduler, and revise production schedules based on resource availability and work order specifics.

  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, shipping, and procurement teams to prioritize work orders, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of materials and final products to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, maintain SAP production planning parameters, and interface with engineering and quality departments to resolve component issues swiftly, ensuring smooth production flow and adherence to schedules.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • A robust background with at least 4 years in planning, scheduling, supply chain, and inventory management within a high-volume manufacturing setting.

  • Proficiency in SAP with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in MRP, planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, along with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

  • A keen ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships across all organizational levels and the potential to grow into a leadership role managing a team of planners.
