Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) Work Planning Lead to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The DWPF Work Planning Lead provides leadership to the workgroup and leads work activities in one or more of the following areas: Planning, Projects, Complex Work, and/or Lockout. Primarily responsible for providing oversight, subject matter expertise, problem identification, and resolution for assigned area(s). Performs lead role responsible for training, coaching, and mentoring subordinate planners and provides guidance and problem resolution on work package development and prioritization. Secondarily responsible for performing work specified under the senior work control planner description.

Responsibilities

  • Provides work control package technical reviews for quality and consistency for self and assigned planners. Responsible for work control/work maintenance planning and scheduling for more complex, unique and varied assignments for a specific area, department, system and /or activity.

  • Provides guidance to assigned employees and provides clarity or interpretation of guidelines, procedures, and policies. Plans, prioritizes and coordinates work for others to support objectives and facility mission.

  • Operates under deadlines and may be subject to heavy workloads.

  • Represents the department and acts as lead during scope development, design, planning and execution of projects, outages and other activities.

  • Acts as Person-In-Charge (PIC) for planning, coordination, problem-solving and efficient field implementation.

  • Develops, implements and conducts training on programmatic, technical and/or planning functions. Trains new or less experienced staff.

  • Contributes to the preparation, forecasting and reporting of organization performance, budgets, manpower requirements, workload distribution and the development of resource requirements.

  • Provides feedback and recommendations to management on work group performance for performance and merit ranking, training, discipline, promotion, and demotion.

  • Reviews, interprets, edits and provides feedback on activities related to assigned discipline.

  • Leads benchmarking, research, brainstorming and other activities. Provides subject matter expertise, influences, and negotiates to achieve best outcome.

  • Participates and leads improvement and efficiency efforts, self-assessments, and field observations.

  • Tracks and expedites Fragnet work package priorities.

  • Acts as back-up to other department leads and manager.

  • Communicates and trains others on assigned areas or areas of expertise to promote an advanced understanding. This may include guides, tip sheets, Q&A's, meetings, seminars, formal training or other communication and learning methods.Other duties as assigned.

  • Acknowledged as the highest level subject matter expert for the area assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and practical work experience in work control, E&I/mechanical maintenance or related areas as defined in the job description.

Additional information:

Must possess or gain full qualified status within 6 months of entering position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree

  • Experience with interpreting various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings and schematics.

  • Ability to coordinate work teams, set and meet goals and objectives and prioritize work.

  • In-depth knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations as well as existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures. Detailed and comprehensive understanding of site work control procedures and work practices, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control and procedures for both maintenance and operations related areas.

  • Thorough understanding from a conceptual level of various processes, systems, and equipment. Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration and lockout point identification

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. Minimum Pay

USD $89,900.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $161,700.00/Yr.
