S&P Global Sr. Specialist- Commissions Accounting in Ahmedabad, India

The Team: The Global Accounting Operations team within Business Unit Controllers is responsible for working with the business units across S&P Global for all commission related accounting in both the P&L and balance sheet. The team values collaboration and the ability to think critically while problem solving.

Responsibilities:

Manage Xactly’s Commission Expense Accounting (CEA) module.

Work closely with division finance teams in the preparation and posting of the monthly

commission accrual and expenses along with related analysis

Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting packages and analysis on ASC 606 and accruals including support for quarterly SEC reporting

Responsible for internal controls associated with ASC 606

Oversee and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, manage account groupings

Uses broader knowledge of financial principles and theories and the organizations to improve processes

What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications:

5-8 years of accounting experience with general ledger close, posting entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related curriculum

Organized, responsible and committed

Working knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606

Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues and ideas

Extensive Microsoft Excel knowledge and expertise

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills (proactive problem solver) and an inquisitive mind

Comfortable managing the delivery of high-quality outputs with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraints

Experience with Oracle, preferred

Experience with or willingness to learn Xactly, Alteryx and Tableau

Must be assertive to follow up on resolving issues, ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever-changing environment

Must be able to work independently, be accountable for processes/tasks performed and understand when an issue should be elevated to management
