In this role you will be expected to manage a team of all levels of professionals in Engineering, establish objectives and guidelines for engineering processes, product specifications and other areas of Electrical and Systems Engineering.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

  • Manage the activities of a team of engineers that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the organization’s systems and components.

  • Use highly developed technical knowledge and project management skills for project planning, budget management, and methodology development to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to defined goals.

  • Coordinate the preparation of business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and the financial terms and conditions of contracts to ensure that progress and performance can be tracked.

  • Establish design concepts, process, product specifications, and other components impacting software, systems and electronics engineering.

  • Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of engineering project staff and their work products to ensure the effective deployment of talent.

  • Oversee the functional management of direct reports including but not limited to career development and succession planning to meet the organization’s needs.

  • Manage the collection and analysis of customer specifications and system level requirements, decomposing into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generating verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Experience in managing programs/projects within a highly matrixed organization including successfully managing a group of engineers under technical guidance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical, Systems or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Should be capable of obtaining/maintaining an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level or higher. Candidate selected might be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

  • Experience in creating career development programs to ensure skills and performance of employees meet the organization’s current and future needs.

  • Knowledge and experience in Components, Power Electronics and Printed Circuit Design (analog & digital).

  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry with working knowledge of industry standards.

  • Experience with hardware development and integration process from requirements gathering through test and certifications.

  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera

  • Knowledge and experience applying Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance metrics
