[Parts Etcher [MK Magnetics ([www.mkmagnetics.com[) specializes in the production of custom and standard tape wound soft magnetic cores for transformers and inductors. All the cores we sell are manufactured on site in Adelanto, California in a modern 75,000 sqft facility specially designed and built for manufacturing tape wound magnetic cores.   • Reads process sheet for specific etching instructions.
  • Lifts cores from cart and places in etching basket.
  • Uses overhead crane with electrical hoist controls to immerse cores into acid and rinse tanks.
  • Etch parts per their standard times and type of acid depending on material type.
  • Visually identifies the thoroughness of etching by the change in the face of the core from bright to muted; varying depending on the material type; and that burrs on edges are removed.
  • Rinse cores in coolant and uses a hose with pressure nozzle for final rinse.
  • Dry cores using compressed air.
  • Use a multi-meter to check stack resistance of cores; when requested on process sheet.
  • Removes cores from basket and places on cart or onto shipping cardboard.
  • Pump rinse water from tanks to outdoor holding tank verifying that valve to outside tank is closed, there are no leaks in line upon start of pumping, and that outside holding tank does not overflow.
  • Add and remove acid from tanks as needed; using hand pumps.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste into proper containers with label affixed for type of material and hazard.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Use crane, hoist, hand tools or other equipment needed to perform duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent with one or more years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

Must be able to read and write English.

Basic Mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percents.

Hazards and safety precautions associated with the manufacturing.
