       This role will involve assisting the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program, with a primary focus on coaching and mentoring female student-athletes.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes.Essential Functions:

  • Assist in Training Sessions: Collaborate with the head coach to plan and execute effective training sessions focused on improving athletes' endurance, speed, and technique.

  • Individualized Coaching: Provide personalized coaching and feedback to female student-athletes, helping them set and achieve their goals.

  • Team Management: Support the head coach in managing team logistics, such as organizing transportation to meets, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

  • Student-Athlete Development: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

  • Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and the broader school community, keeping them informed about team activities and fostering a sense of community support.

  • Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with all school and athletic association rules and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and paperwork as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Coaching certifications and compliant with all state and local regulations.

  • Previous experience as a competitive distance runner, preferably at the collegiate or elite level.

  • Coaching experience, particularly in cross country or track and field, is preferred but not required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire student-athletes.

  • Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, including their academic, athletic, and personal growth.

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

  • Commitment to upholding high standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and ethical conduct.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team, supporting the head coach and other staff members.

  • Knowledge of training principles, sports science, and injury prevention techniques related to distance running.
