Job Description

An aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area is seeking a Principal Machinist. In this role, you will play a vital role in the production and precision machining of critical components for our rocket engines. Primary responsibilities will include operating and setting up CNC Machining equipment, interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools, materials and cutting speeds and ensuring quality control and compliance. You will ensure maintenance of all equipment and tools and accurate records of machining processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of delivering cutting-edge technology to enhance national defense and the future of space exploration.

Skills and Requirements

· 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing shop

 · Strong understanding of manual and CNC machining processes

 · Strong experience programming CAM software (preferably MasterCAM) and milling

 · Strong experience with lathe, 9 axis and 5 axis

 · Working understanding of tolerance, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and design for manufacturability

 · Strong familiarity with other manufacturing operations (EDM, waterjet, electroplating, heat treating, etc)

 · High school Diploma or GED

Background in Aerospace/Defense industry or precision similar equivalent · 15-20 years of experience as a machinist or working in a manufacturing shop

 · Production experience
