Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates day-to-day functions to ensure the operation and maintenance of multi-user computer systems. Coordinates installation of computer hardware and software.

  2. Resolves routine and non-routine system problems leveraging the company’s ticketing system. Troubleshoots local and remote systems and may recommend solutions including new hardware or software or upgrades.

  3. Interacts with users and departments and identifies and develops solutions to resolve technical/system issues.

  4. Develops, plans, guides, and coordinates system implementations or upgrades including deployment, resource requirements, testing, documentation, integration, and compliance and safety.

  5. Participates in planning for deployment of new and/or updated applications/systems.

  6. Functions in a leadership role to less experienced technical staff.

  7. May participate in the selection and development of technical staff.

  8. Oversees technical asset lifecycles and auditing, from acquisition to disposal.

  9. May work the help desk and provide telephone support or arrange for service of trouble calls to users.

  10. May act as the primary contact with suppliers and vendors.

  11. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  12. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  13. Travel is required between work sites, and may use a vehicle to pick up or deliver hardware and software. Qualifications

  • Typically requires an Associate's degree in information technology or a related discipline, along with one or more years professional systems administration experience.

  • Equivalent professional experience or certifications in information technology may be substituted in lieu of education.

  • Must demonstrate full knowledge of several system administration functions such as system performance tuning and measurement, back-up, recovery, configuration management, LAN/WAN internet protocols, encryption/security/firewalls, web servers or load balancing.

  • Diverse experience with troubleshooting for Linux and Macintosh operating systems for both endpoints and servers, as well as infrastructure systems such as ISP, routers, switches, firewalls, storage, etc.

  • Must be able to schedule and coordinate work assignments to meet established completion dates. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) The ability to identify issues, interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of routine and non-routine problems;(2) Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report findings.(3) Good interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees.(4) The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and(5) Strong computer skills. (6) U.S. Citizenship and a valid driver’s license. (7) No disqualifiers from obtaining a U.S. Secret level clearance. 1. Current environment on DELL Devices, Win10, moving to Win112. Possible projects: Win11 migration, this is a recent M&A site, so they continues to move the site to GA standards, assuming that will have multiple projects related to that.3. There is some server knowledge required as that person will work as a smart hand resource4. The customer mentioned that he would expect someone with strong soft skills, maybe Business Analyst with a technical background. (customer comments)5. Local to Acton, MA ( Boston area) - to support 2 sites, 40 min drive between both sites6. US Citizen – need to be able to have secret clearance after the initial 12 months (contract-to-hire)7. Onboarding requirements (FBI screening and regular background check)
