Summary
The Accomac team is actively recruiting for a Live Haul Manager. The purpose of the Live Haul Manager position is to manage, organize, and plan/direct the Live Haul Department to include personnel, vehicles and equipment needed to maintain timely pickup and delivery for plant processing.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Quality communication standards to contracted Crew Leaders so they can properly supervise their crews on proper ways of handling birds to assure quality required and control damages. Also, to assure live haul is meeting schedule requirements.
Productivity manage operations to ensure the goals and objectives for the department and company are being achieved.
Keep staff educated of change that are necessary to improve and assure quality for our customers.
Work to ensure a safe work place for associates and that they are trained to work safely.
Train and develop associates so they will can work in different jobs as needed.
Work to have good relationships with grow out, producers and plant.
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience Requirements
3-5 years work experience
Prior experience managing budget.
A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
An ability to thing ahead and plan over a 1 to 3 yea time span.
Ability to organize multiple protocols/ projects and complete on schedule.
Ability to develop protocols and processes and deploy.
Ability o analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional all levels
Ability to supervise and recognize training needs for the operation as the associates and the willingness to support those needs and develop associates
Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and a commitment to excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of and commitment to team performance, effective coaching and demonstrated skills of a strong team player

Ability, knowledge adn commitment to put safety of associates above everything else while achieving goals.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
