JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Dr. Rachael Brown, PI on NSF-funded grant Rational Numbers Playground and math education faculty member, is seeking a Penn State student to work on campus and/or remotely as a research assistant.

Job DutiesThe research project is investigating middle school teacher learning and knowledge in a 30-hour professional development focused on proportional reasoning.

• Help with transcription clean up and data organization to start.

• Analyzing data, making changes to our professional development, starting a facilitator guide, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Applicants do not need a strong background in mathematics but must interested in learning about qualitative research as well as have solid organization skills.

Student openings offer wonderful professional growth opportunities in the area of research and project management. This opportunity will add valuable employment experience to your resume. The schedule for this opening is typically 10 hours/week with a weekly team meeting (date and time to be determined based on team members schedules). This opening is part-time and pays $12/hr.
