Purpose of Position:

• Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines

Essential Job Functions:

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems
• Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor instructions
• Maintains correct time punches and work order processes
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy required
• Tags all parts required to follow warranty procedure
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris
• Follows safety procedures

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Preferred Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Technical training education

Preferred Experience:

• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Preferred Qualifications:

• CDL License
• ASE certification a plus
• Freightliner certification
