Manager I is responsible for oversight and management of the dining facility operation in collaboration with the prime contractor and the WSC Director of Food Service. Manager I must utilize superb time management while exhibiting the utmost in professionalism and servant leadership.Must adhere to sanitation requirements as outlined in the PWS (Performance Work Statement) and Tri-Services Food Code.

Functions:

  1. Ensures all team members are knowledgeable of the requirements of the PWS, Tri-Services Food Code and WSC personnel policies.
  2. Ensures management members are knowledgeable of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and provides support as required.
  3. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are followed and team members are trained as required.
  4. Implements, administers and assists in the scheduling of training programs.
  5. Completes applicable payroll, personnel and contractual reports in accordance with established procedures.
  6. Hires, develops and evaluates staff, taking any necessary corrective actions in a timely manner in accordance with applicable CBA and company requirements.
  7. Serves as the WSC primary point of contact for the prime contractor in all matters pertaining to the operation of the dining facility.
  8. Monitors facility fiscal activities as well as financial status, monetary funds and internal operation and budget standards.
  9. Attends weekly staff meetings as well as other applicable meetings and training opportunities.
  10. Maintains professional conduct in accordance with WSC policy.
  11. Performs other job related duties as required by supervisor.

Required:

High school graduate or GED equivalent. Two years supervisory experience in food service operations. Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to read, understand, and follow instruction manuals for new equipment for purposes of usage, training, and safety. Basic mathematical skills required to perform operation and paperwork requirements. Ability to pass Air Force background check. Ability to complete and maintain the ServSafeandtrade; Managers 5-year certification. Valid drivers license with certificate of insurability (corporate auto policy). Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and strength test. Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Ability to adapt quickly to changes in workload and working conditions; ability to coordinate multiple tasks, while maintaining standards of the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Basic knowledge of menu planning, cooking processes, and food storage standards. Basic knowledge of troubleshooting, safety, and operation of food service facility equipment. Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operations such as slicers, freezers, steamers, ovens, grills, buffalo chopper, potato peeler, mixers, Combi-ovens, steam kettles, and any other equipment necessary to perform duties to standards of the PWS.

Preferred:

Bachelors degree in Business Management or a related hospitality field and a minimum of 5 years experience in related fields with high volume cafeteria style feeding. Prior military food service experience.
