If you are looking for your next role to have a direct impact on the world, we have an excellent career opportunity for you to join Caterpillar’s Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) team as a Product Application Specialist for Rigid Frame Trucks in the Africa Middle-East region !

In this role, you will provide technical and market support for Rigid Frame Trucks across the Africa and Middle East ,,(AME)region. Additionally, you will support application and job studies, communicate product and market information to the Product Group, manage NPI process and participate on the market strategy team.

Specifically, you can expect to do:

  • Train the district and dealer Sales Representatives on product and application matters (product, services, application and relevant systems or software).

  • Professionally provide ongoing technical support to districts and dealers supporting the customers’ need for detailed technical/performance/application data give rise to dealer requests for assistance and with a “customer first” mentality.

  • Support and manage customer site assessments and production studies to help identify the best rigid frame hauling solution for their needs.

  • Prepare introduction plans for new products (NPI) for the Africa-Middle East & Eurasia regions. Monitor progress on all elements of NPI and initiate corrective action. Develop and maintain regional training activities in support of new product launches for these regions.

  • Build and maintain up to date knowledge about competitive systems and machines and be able to promote Caterpillar value advantage to aid selling activities vs. each competitor.

  • Act as a mentor for less experienced employees with respect to all facets of the role with particular emphasis on product service and application knowledge and Caterpillar systems knowledge.

  • Participate on a Standing Team for “market strategy development.” Provide input to Strategy development – and assist in deployment.

  • Be the primary conduit of technical information to and from the Product Groups, for Rigid Frame Trucks in support of key regional inputs & in development of business cases for the Unmet Customer Needs process.

Skills you will bring to the role

  • Technical Excellence – strong product and application knowledge

  • Customer focus, Relationship Management– ability to maintain productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors

  • Effective Communications -ability to deliver clear and effective communications, including preparation and delivery of public presentations, that successfully engage diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Value Selling –ability to translate offerings and solutions into dollarized customer benefits

  • Negotiation skills – ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner

Education and experience:

  • University degree preferably in engineering, business or marketing

  • MBA would be an added bonus

  • Extensive commercial experience involving dealer and/or customer facing positions (8 to 15 years)

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Regional industry expertise

  • Knowledge of (add input) language an advantage

  • Previous experience of working in a multinational company and collaborating with a global team

Additional information:

  • Travel: extensive travel (70%) travel across Africa, Middle East and parts of Eurasia regions. As part of a global team will also travel for team meetings into other regions.

  • The role is posted in Dubai and Abidjan.

  • Not eligible for Payroll transfer / ISE
