Avera is currently seeking Physician Assistant (PA) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

• Demonstrates and serves as an expert in the role of practitioner, consultant, educator and health professional.

• Improves clinical and cost outcomes for key patient populations through collaboration with physicians and staff and by participating in strategic initiatives.

• Assures competent and ethical care of patients and families.

• Collaborates with the supervising physician and clinic staff the responsibilities of providing and maintaining a quality of customer focused, nursing and medically appropriate approach to patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, follow up to outcomes and cost-effective delivery of services.

• Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.

• Experience (clinical or actual) in Family Practice preferred, or will train.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current SD license to match degree.

• Federal & State DEA certification is required for South Dakota Physician Assistants.

• National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCPPA) required.

• ACLS, CPR is preferred.

Work Schedule

• Varied shifts as needed; PRN
